Playroom Blues

I am just not happy with the boys playroom. It needs work. BIG TIME! It needs inspiration, color, excitement, or something. I am open to any advice at all. I just am not sure what to do because the walls seem so tall compared to their little furniture. What does anyone elses playroom look like? HELP! Also, our little buddy, Hudson, is at home now and doing well. He is being such a trooper and is as precious as ever in his little camo cast. The cast covers most of his body so he still needs lots of prayers to get through the next 6-8 weeks. What a precious little boy! He is wearing his little Halloween shirt that Jack and Sam got him.

Poor little Hudson!
If it makes you feel any better at all, I am so not happy with my playroom either. Now, Pottery Barn has some stinkin' awesome playroom ideas if you have the mula. I think Marc is going to build one of the cubby type of storage units that Pottery Barn has. We will see when he gets to it and how it turns out, but you could always do that.

Hey! I have a little suggestion...Paint the topof the wall a different color...maybe a feet or two...to bring the wall down to little people size...You can use a fun color or go neutral like creams or whites...The point is visually you will be brought down...Or if you like it the reverse...Make a faux wainscotting by paint ing the bottom half of the wall about 3-5 feet...you can add a trim/molding or paint a stripe to mimic a trim...you could paint it a fun color to add character or stay neutral...I think you have great bones and pieces...It just needs a little pop...:) I think your little guy is so adorable! You got to love boys! I have 3! :)

Oh my goodness...poor little guy! He looks like a trooper though! As for the playroom, I wonder if you could get some more bookshelves to push together and create a larger focal point on the wall? Maybe at a garage sale or Craig's List? Then just paint them red like the cute one you already have and it gives you extras storage plus it will fill up that space. Just a thought!

He is so cute!

You have a great playroom space! Just a fun thought-what about painting one wall with chalkboard paint? Or if you don't want to do the whole wall then a large portion of one (maybe the bottome half) and then trim it out in crown molding to look like a picture frame?

Oh poor little guy. I broke my femur in two places when I was almost two years old. My cast was not nearly as fancy!

Poor little guy! I'm jealous that you actually have a playroom! I like the colors you have in there with the tan walls and red furniture, it's a great combination. Maybe you could bring in another color, like navy or black. It's hard to tell from teh pictures what the room needs. Maybe a large chalkboard on a wall would fill some of the empty wall space. Another good feature would be a shelving unit. You could even build your own (that's what we did for my daughter's room because buying one was too expensive).

I sure wish I had a playroom for my son! You already have some cute pieces like the red bookcase and clock. It would be cute to tape off part of a wall and make a big chalkboard with chalkboard paint. You could trim it out with molding. I bet the kids would love to be allowed to write on the walls! You could also have a big corkboard to display all their artwork. Can't wait to see what you do with the space!

I'm HOME!!!!! I hate hospitals and have missed Blogland! Poor baby Hudson. I kept telling myself that if he can put up with that big ol' cast, then I can put up with all of my stupid hospital stuff. I hope he is doing better everyday.

I do not think the playroom needs ANYTHING, you cannot tell the overall room in these pics. But, since Jack loves trains so much and since Toby is so creative, why not make it like a cute little train station or something?!? That would be way cute. But, you probably shouldn't invest too much moolah into it anyway, the way you two procreate, you will need the room soon! hahaha!

Did you notice that the girl named Megan on here that left a comment looks a lot like Melissa?(at first glance.)

I am so sorry to see little Hudson in that cast! Our dear friends' little boy just got out of his. He had the same exact cast!
As far as the playroom? Chalkboard paint is the coolest thing ever!
