History

Regardless of how you voted, today history was made. As I watched the election results come in, I could not help be moved that our country had come a long way in it's relatively short life. It is not about the person....it was about that our country adopted the ideas of our founding fathers and my strong Christian faith, that all men were created equal. I thought of when I was in school and I asked my parents, "What were you doing when.....?". Our children will ask that question about today. I decided to write them a letter and answer that question. Hopefully one day they will read it and be able to feel exactly what it was like tonight as we awaited election results. I really feel that this crosses party lines. What a historic election. Women and African-Americans have both come so far. We should be proud to live in our country. President Abraham Lincoln and Susan B. Anthony, along with many others who have fought the good fight, would both be proud to see what they worked so hard for pay off in this election. God Bless America!

I completely agree -- either way it would have been historic. Pretty cool, even if I don't like how it turned out. I can appreciate how far we've come though, and that's why I am so proud to be an American!! :)

(I saw your comment on Sandy Toes and came to check you out)

I totally agree with you. I thought it was so neat to watch history unfold before my eyes. I posted something similar but you said it better than I did. I was nervous writing mine.

yes, while I do agree that history was made, I am NOT proud of the decision that our country made. How can you be proud of the decision to elect a man REGARDLESS of color that is in favor of taking innocent unborn lives? and is willing to do so with No regard. Plus take my hard earned money and give it to those who WONT get out and work? Listen, if you don't think race played a big part, you are just fooin yourself. i love to hop over here and read your blog so don't think i am mad at you, i'm not. i just disagree today that's all. AND one more point. What made history last night was not that an african-american(which he is only 1/8 african by the way. he is more white than black) what made history was the fact that we were all FREE to go and vote the way we wanted!
