Cookies and Cross Stitch

Today I baked. And baked and baked and baked. Then I decorated and decorated and decorated (a little over 13 dozen cookies). Thankfully my friend, Niki, came over to help. I had a great time with her and lots of good conversation. Her little dude came over to play too looking adorable as always. I am finally finished with Halloween baking and ready to move on. I love the cookies I make for fall and Thanksgiving...my favorite of all year. Can't wait to show them to you.

As I am getting tucked into bed I am working on a Christmas bread towel (is that what they are called) I am cross-stitching for my mom. I love the simple pattern and think it will look beautiful on a Christmas table. She loves using these in her bread basket. I was wondering though if you think it would look better tea stained. I just think the white is too stark. What do you think? I would love lots of opinions.
Also, several people have asked me about how to make these cookies and I was thinking about posting a tutorial. They are really simple. What do you think?

I think you should definately tea stain the cross stitching. It gives it more character and makes it look like an antique store find.
I vote YES that you put a tutorial up on how to make the cookies! I love to bake and I can decorate a cake but I haven't braved the sugar cookies.

definitely post a tutorial. I agree w/ Jess, teastain would make it look more antique. But, would it hurt the colors that you have already cross stitched?

Hey new to your page and I love all your decor and crafts. Had to add you to my favorites...your babies are so adorable also! WOW lots of cookies. Oh I would love the recipe, I am having a birthday party this weekend for my soon to be 4 yr old and would love to make some for her birthday party.

I just got my cross stitching stuff back out a few nights ago to get back doing this. I think the tea stain would be pretty. With rolls sometimes you get grease from the rolls and you would want it in a dark cloth so it does not show up so bad...the white would really set it off that way...anyway love your blog and look forward to getting to know you.

I love the cross stitched towel. I'm not sure if I would tea dye it! I think it would look good tea dyed, but I like the bright white look!

Hi Betsy! Those cookies turned out so cute! I have to make some cupcakes for school on Friday, but I don't think I'll be able to make something nearly that cute!

Oh, and you've been "Boo-ed"!
